The Assassins and the Templars
Nazaris, or the assassins, came to hold a small territory on the borders of the Principality of Antioch. They were left in peace by the Crusader states, particularly the Templars who had many of the neighbouring estates provided their paid annual tribute. In 1170s they contacted the King of Jerusalem and said we would like to make a formal treaty with you,. A military alliance. And so when the Assassins sent envoys down to finalize the treaty, the Templars ambushed and assassinated the assassins to block the treaty.
