Vanguard does direct indexing and personalized indexing. Indirect indexing or personalized indexing, you actually hold the basket of underlying securities individually. It's a little different structure than your ETF. You buy VTI on a share of VTI, not the underlying holdings. And what you can do with individual securities is it allows you to be very tax efficient.
