A lot of the SBF orbit right now thinks they're being targeted for doing things that every advocacy group does in Washington, like paying high salaries. That is how lots of lobbyists do their business or coordinating political contributions and using the corporate checkbook to bolster the founders' personal contributions. Some people in SBF's orbit hope that public integrity might have a bit more compassion for kind of basic Washington lobbying.
