The march was ultimately a it failed in implementing federal child labor laws. But what it did do is it became a successful way of changing the perception of work place practices among americans. The national child labor committee, organized in 19 o four and state child labor committees employed flexible methods to make progress. They hired lewis hine, who was then their photographer for the next two decades. Lewis hein's stark photographs influenced legislation over a period of roughly 35 years. This body of work on child labor represented how he felt that children must not be exploited.
