Plato and the Socratic Circle
Plato was introduced to Socrates probably in his mid teens and perhaps by his elder brothers. And Plato became one of Socrates's favorites when he joined the Socratic Circle, the group. We don't know exactly what this group got up to, but we do know that there was a decided political bent to it. One of Socrates's chief motivations was trying to train up young men to take charge of Athens When they came of age.
