In the harmonious music section, we're looking at how people such as pythagoras sought to understand music in mathematical terms. And he did this er with a device called a monochord. In the exhibition, we've developed an interactive where visitors can explore the mathematics behind that - starting with the monochord and then looking at the owloss. The owl is a twin pipe instrument. An original example on display in the exhibition?
