B2G chapter five of the European Union's new rules on data privacy and security was touched up last week. There are four open points, including whether personal data can be shared with public authorities. The Council wants to include personal data but a potential compromise could be to have personal data allowed only for public emergencies. "We would never accept person data to be shared in a situation of non-mergency," says Lord Tebbit.
