In Sweden, the Genie Coefficient for Disposable Income Has Increased by 37 Percent From 1992 to 2018
Income inequality among working-age households in Sweden increased by 37 percent from 1992 to 2018. More than half and nearly two-thirds of the increase in inequality has happened through changes in the tax system, according to a new study. The social democrats did not reverse what those bourgeois governments had done but initiated changes that contributed this kind of retreat from redistribution," says Andersson. "The problem is very much about material grievances" he adds.
