Syncing to Asrady, Should We Retire the Local Ady?

The last bit, beyond file shares and internal aps, is active directory. And again, somebody years ago, had decided the best form, but let's not change anything and it just works. So if we synchronize to asrady, what sort of the cutting point, where do we stop? As rady connect? Don't shink any more. Let's retire the glogal ady. Is that possible? And is there something that still needs the local ady? Because if we shut it down or demote the domain controllers and eventually retire the whole local ady, is that even possible? Or should we spin up a couple of domain controllers in the cloud
