Malady Law and the Wee River

The law and worldviews of Mali have influenced the way that the settler state law has been constructed. So it's one of the better examples, I think, where you're seeing a coming together of different legal systems to produce something that is new. The power dynamics, obviously, even with a treaty in place are still very skewed towards the set-state. But you can see, so if you look at, I think it's section 12, 13 and 14 in the Teau Watukula legislation. And again, you've got this beautiful coming together of ideas and cosmologies and the power of malady law.
