How to Reduce Emissions From Farming
If you were appointed by the government to deal with the farming sector, what would you be advising them to do? I'd be getting as many farmers as possible to put in solar. Then if you're not near a major development that needs energy, or your land isn't suitable, then grow trees. That doesn't sound like a very clean thing to do, but it's a very carbon-friendly way of creating energy. But there is no clear policy about what they should do. There's a strategy of hope. It's like if we keep growing the dairy herd, magically we will start the carbon problem. And that's just not happening.
