Baptisms for the Dead Are a Sealing to God's Family
When moroni first came to joseph smith as a young man, he's quoting scripture. Joseph actually said that baptisms for the dead are done by the sealing and binding power. Now at this point, we're not talking, necessarily, of binding family members together. They still hadn't introduced that concept. We are binding people to god's family.
