The Power of Women in War
I wanted to tell the story where women just weren't victims of war. I actually think women have had a really surprising amount of agency. The nucleus of the women's auxiliary services in World War one are these ladies who just set up and did it on their own. And so we can either look at the stories of war as women's victimhood or we can actually say if we go back, look at it these are women who are absolutely making decisions for themselves.
