The Effects of TGA on the Stock Market
Changes in TGA over the short run are the same as quantitative easing or tightening. What's happened with this TGA drawdown is that we've seen the government spend money that hasn't required any borrowing because they'd already borrowed it. On the other hand, everyone's worried right now about the stock market because they're worried the governments go out.
