Is There a Turing Test for Sentience?
I've been thinking a lot about recent models and some people claiming that something like Lambda is sentient. There was a great Twitter experiment where somebody trained one of these models when they were talking about sentience. So I actually think this goes kind of against the Turing test notion that a good indicator of something rich mentally going on will be when it goes against what it's sort of supposed to be doing. If an AI can convince a bench of humans, a bench of smart humans over a period of some days, that it is conscious, we'll have to accept that it is. Because as he said, that's how we judge each other.
