The Bank of England and the War Machine

The Bank of England was not overtly lending to industrialists. It figures out quite early on that that kind of lending is complicated. So this keeps banking in Britain throughout the 18th and into the early 19th century on a relatively small scale. Some historians say it played a really pivotal role in Britain's ability to prosecute those wars, would you agree with that?
