The Origins of the Nicene Creed

When Christianity became legal in the early 300s under Constantine, there were disparate ways of calculating time amongst Christians. The real important issue was celebrating the resurrection together. And so seeking unity amongst the churches, Constantine would call the first Ecumenical Council to get everyone on the same page. This is where our Nicene Creed gets its Genesis.
