The Difference Between MES and ERP

MES was born precisely to say, look, if in general I can't assemble a car till I've got a frame and an engine and quarter panels and the like, there's absolutely some rigidity there. In terms of the final good, whether you're fabricating, assembling, or going through some other kind of process, there may well be a finish that obviously has to come after the start. So a good MES would let you say, no, no, I can do this in parallel. I can create this as a whip pool and draw from it and differentiate further downstream.
