Dudley bradstreet told the duke of newcastle that there was a third army between them and london. The jacobites were definitely anxious that there might be forces facing them, but whether they were critically moved by bradstreet, or bradstreet was even in the council of war, is a different matter. Charles doesn't like it one little bit. He thinks a critical mistake is occurring. And also, unsurprisingly, know that forces have landed in scotland, and those forces are exaggerated.
