The Importance of Concerning the Great City of Nineveh
The word concern is a very hard word to translate from Hebrew into English. But let me try to unpack it for you. If you love somebody, and you hear that something bad has happened to them or something bad is happening to them, you feel deep distress on their behalf. Their problems become your problems. When God looks at this city, he feels the love of attachment, deep concern, deep. He sees brokenness and beauty. And his heart is bound to this city, longing for its healing. That's how God feels about London.
