XBB-15 has been detected in China, but that's not what's circulating there. What's circulating there is descendants of BF7 and BA-52. It looks like the major divergent Greek letter name worthy variants evolved within individual hosts. At the level of the host population, it's about getting into new hosts. The competition is with viruses that are infecting multiple hosts,. And so is it transmissible? Can it move effectively from one individual to another? So for example, is there a higher viral load that I have probably going to be able to sneeze out 10 times as much virus?"
