The NIV's Description of Jesus' Physical Suffering in the Gospel
The description of Job's suffering in Job chapter 16 is a foreshadowing of the description of Jesus' physical suffering in the gospel. In verse 5, when Jesus came out wearing the crown of thorns and the purple robe, Pilate said to them, here is the man. The NIV misses a word there. Behold, look at this man. Look at the man covered in his own blood and of the people's spit. And not only that, later on in the same chapter, Pilate will again evangelize, point people to Christ.
