The show is supposed to represent a sort of hyper-realistic world that is realistic. Almost all of the violent acts we see are actual violent acts that have happened in real life close to every episode starts with a location and a year and a month, I believe. And so the show is definitely trying to make some sort of comment about a real life that we're living in. But it sort of falls flat to me on the simple understanding that stand culture is a culture. It has internal politics and external politics. There's the internal politics of, am I a big enough fan to belong here and what makes us a fan? Then there's the external politics of how these fans are judged
