Negotiation

Ben Riva: I think we blow this way out of proportion. It's a collaborative problem solving endeavor. The more comfortable you get with it, the more you show yourself in your own lived experience that negotiating doesn't pack fire at you. People will tell them, okay, your best way to build leverage is to get your existing employer to want to retain you. That just feels so anathema to the way I live my whole life. This is not the sort of thing where you either are born as a negotiator or you're not.
