Miles Michaelis plunked Wilson Contreras in the first inning of a game against the Cardinals. The play was caught on camera, but it's not clear if he intended to hurt his catcher. Fans took to social media to defend Miles' actions and say they're too dense to be embarrassed by what happened.
Some early drama in the first inning got the Chicago Cubs out to a hot start after Cardinals pitcher Miles Mikolas was ejected for intentionally hitting Ian Happ. The Cubs scored three runs in the first inning and they never looked back in route to a 10-3 win in St. Louis. The Cubs have now won six straight games, including eight out of their last nine. Cody Bellinger continued his hot July adding three more hits. Mike Tauchman hit a solo shot.
