How to Write a Time Travel Story

The original concept for that time travel story was, I am going to do a time travel story in which I'm monkey with the archives that have already been published. And then the reader, the guy goes back in time and the thought, what did that scene look like? And they will go back and the image has changed. This is a practical joke that the author plays on the readers. It wasn't until I realized that and started writing the story and thought, I like my readers. I don't hate them enough to do this.
