The Importance of Reminding Yourself of the Good in the World
I think it's important to remind yourself that there are good people out there in your town, your city and other countries. I met one of the most awful people I ever met was during the period of the disappearances in Argentina. He had worked out a kind of strategy, mental strategy, for denying that he'd ever actually done anything. And also, I should go further than that and say, almost everybody, or at least a big majority of people, know that they ought to behave well.
