In 1766, a Boston hairdresser by trade offered to operate on teeth. Early dentists had one trade and did dentistry on the side because of advances in Europe who were way ahead. John Hunter of England came up with the idea of transplanting human teeth. He would pay people to come in and donate their teeth.
