Ghana's Abolishing of the Death Penalty
You've just had a major success in having Ghana abolish the death penalty for ordinary crimes after it passed the Criminal Amendment Offences Act. Why was it so important for you to have this rescinded from the law books to the death penalty? There are several cases of wrongful convictions. The death penalty itself is too final and that when people are killed, there is no opportunity for them to come back to life if it turns out that there are convictions were wrong. Extremely excited to see Ghana join the League of Nations and also join comorbid countries that have moved away from what are called colonial relics, which is the death penalty.
