The History of Tuskegee University
Tuskegee Institute was founded in the early 1900s by James Washington. The school began as a makeshift classroom, but quickly grew into one of the country's top historically black colleges. Now known as tuskegee university, the school is home to about three thousand students and is one of the top ranked historically black colleges in the country.
