The Troubled Teen Industry
We spoke to a whistle blower at Diamond Ranch Academy. He said what he heard from the boys was that they would write letters to be sent to their families. They then would have the letters returned to them from Diamond Ranch staff members with certain parts of the letters, either ripped out or scrubbed out. The camp deny that these phone calls were not monitored and that there was freedom of communication between students and parents. But that is obviously up for debate.
