Herbert Morrison and the Underground

Herbert Morrison was the Minister for Transport in Ramsey McDonald's Labour government. He bought all the private companies together that ran London's transport provision into one unified organization called the London Passenger Transport Board. It cost 100 million to bring it to fruition, which would be £5 billion today. We still have a Transport for London today, so it was obviously the right thing to do.
