The Church's Response to the Black Death
The church interpreted the spread of disease as punishment for loose morals and unholy behavior. Religious figures also had thoughts on what should be done to combat it. Churchmen saw evidence of this fall from god's grace everywhere, from indecent fashioned choices to dishonest merchants and the disobedience of children.
