Is Adam a literal historical figure? Yes and no. I think a sensitive reading of Genesis 1 to 11 understands that it is theological history. And by the way, I think myth is an inappropriate term to use in relationship to Genesis 1-11. You can make a case for it because myths can even be historically true.
