The Consistencies Between Primary and Secondary Mitral Regurgitation
In asymptomatic patients with lebventricular ejection fraction being decreased, both guidelines suggest mitral valve repair if possible over mitral valve replacement. H2H transcatheter repair may be considered as an alternative to mitral valve surgery, only in patients with symptomatic severe primary mitral regurgitation and leb ventricular dysfunction. It is important to address advanced echocardiographic modalities such as three-dimensional, speckled tracking, etc.
