The Importance of Reflection in Parenting
When I had my first child, my son, I was introduced to this respectful parenting philosophy named Ry. The emphasis on thinking of a child as a whole being from the moment they're born is deeply influential in the development of secure attachment. In our interactions with our children, we're reflecting back to them who they are. And these collections of reflections eventually become internalized by our children to form their own sense of self.
