The Worspite would spend most of the following months in Killindini near Mombasa halfway down the eastern coast of Africa. The Japanese ships had failed to clear the Royal Navy from the region they had pushed it away from the Japanese attacks in Indonesia. On April 4th Somerville tried to get force into position to launch a nighttime torpedo strike on the Japanese ships.
