What Kind of Medical Care Was Onboard a Ship?
The concept of having a doctor or a surgeon on a ship goes, goes way back. It was actually a emperor hadrian that had a surgeon on all his ships. They were paid almost two or three times as much as the other officers. You can go and see the surgeon's equipment that they recovered from the wreck - which i always find fascinating.
