Women in Prison - Is That What It Is?
There are huge movements to keep women out of prison altogether, even though women only account for something like 5% of the entire prison population. The vast, vast, vast majority of men in prison also came from deprived backgrounds where they were abused. In many cases, men are encouraged into violence by their female partners. And we should be trying to keep them out of jail because, you know, prison is very damaging for women.
