What Was Wrong With Albert?

Queen Victoria was totally under her husband's control. He compiled an enormous filing system of the Queen's correspondence all by himself. This meant that what he was trying to do was to make the monarchy a bit like the cabinet office, which controlled whether politicians did their jobs. But unfortunately for Albert, this was very tiring. Here is a photograph taken of Albert and Victoria in 1861, a few months before he died. What actually was wrong with Albert is still debatable, we don't know. It may have been stomach cancer, it may have been Crohn's disease.
