There was facial reconstruction going on in germany. There is a surgeon that i discuss named jacques joseph. And he actually had more experience in cosmetic surgery than harold gillies did before the war. He would often alter the appearance of his jewish clients to ensure they survived and blend into society. We have to remember that cosmetic surgery, or this kind of elective cosmetic surgery wasn't a vanity project for a lot of these patients undergoing the knife.
