The Origins of Cornwall
The River Tamer is one of the oldest quasi-national frontiers in Europe. It has been the border between Cornwall and initially, quite explicitly, England as separate places since the 10th century. Do we know what Cornwall actually means? The Cornish word for Cornwall is Colmall - it's probably got an etymological link to Cornoo which would be a Latin word in origin, meaning horn.
