An article made an attempt to posit a physical mechanism by which thunderstorms allow ghosts to appear. "I would tend to think that if this is true, the mechanism would more likely be that the thunderstorm somehow causes the perception of ghosts and wandering spirits rather than literally conjuring them" The author says he thinks most ghost sightings or probably all of them are not really spectral beings from another plane but you don't know for sure.
