Is There a Left Alternative to the EU?
There is a left critique of the EU, we've been developing one throughout this conversation. Could there have been a legsit when the actually existing Brexit movement was a movement led by UKIP and the Tory right? I'm certainly of the opinion that anyone who is criticizing the policy architecture of the contemporary euro zone has to realize that it was a very bad response to a very real problem. So in that sense, the euro is again a bad solution, but it solves a real problem. What you saw in the Greek case, at least when the Grexite option was seriously being considered, is that the options outside of the euro zone were not very pretty either.
