The Unrelenting Heat Wave in the United States

Nearly 180 million Americans are under alerts tonight with the middle of the country from the Great Plains to the Great Lakes, feeling that heat. The largest power grid operator serving 13 states and Washington, D.C., is issuing an emergency alert asking power plants to run at full capacity to meet increased demand. In addition to worries about the power grid, consumers are also concerned about prices rising at the pump.
