The Role of Hormones in Brain Development
I was interested in how this idea relates to the idea that supposedly differing levels of testosterone before you're born hard-wire us into different ways of thinking. So traditional account of sex differences in the brain kind of used the effects of hormones on the genitalia as a kind of modelthinking about sex Differences in the Brain. Now it has become sort of more complex and nuanced, and I don't think many researchers now would think it very useful to talk in terms of hard-wiring. There's still this kind of legacy of thinking about these effects of early testosterone on the brain.
