Is There a Way to Lock the Front Page?

The application can be responsible for explicitly locking certain objects, so placing responsibility in the dev hands. The example they gave was like a multiplayer game where each player can move a shared object. So that one person grabs it and it's locked. And then you do that for UI reasons, because we don't want to both be trying to do the same thing and not realize that it's not going to work until the end.
