The Importance of Faith in Government
I think for people to truly understand that the folks in Washington, D.C., they're not there to necessarily do anything except get elected. Their whole process is about getting elected because they derive this feeling of power from kind of lording over folks. It's a great point. I'd love to read history and sort of throw myself into the mindset of the 1960s where everybody was enthusiastic about sort of public housing or school reform. But I don't think we have anywhere near the faith in government that previous generations had.
