The Shotcrete Tunnel
Over 70 years, all that wood behind the shot cret had rotted away. The rock was breaking loose and coming in and impacting on the tunnel walls. There was a lot of steel inside the tunnel. Some places where the steel was holding up very large sections of the tunnel. And there was concerned that the steel was corroding.
