The History of Dogs
When did dogs first start to be kept as pets, you know, for leisure rather than sort of hunting or other types of work? Some dogs have been kept as pets for centuries. But if we're thinking about dogs that are bred for a leisure market, that tends to become much more common and widespread in the 19th century. And so definitely by the mid-19th century, we see this kind of, it becomes much more common to keep dogs as your friend.
